The Clucking Palace: a royal little chicken coop on a plank yard. A board-and-batten coop stands on two leg frames under a steep shingled roof with scalloped gable trim and a cupola with a rooster weathervane. A CLUCKING PALACE sign sits under a crown cut-out over an arched plank door. The hens walk up a cleated ramp into a picket run with a gate, a water trough and a feed sack, and the whole roof lifts off to show the three nesting boxes inside. Every structural piece locks in with tabs, so nothing needs holding while glue sets.

You'll need

• Wood glue - a small drop in each joint makes it permanent; the sign, door and trims glue on flat
• Fine sandpaper for the tiny tab nubs
• Optional: acrylic paints (the booklet lists Apple Barrel colors)
