Lighted Lighthouse with Keeper's Cottage - Personalized Laser-Cut SVG File

A striped 3D lighthouse with a keeper's cottage that glows with an LED tea light, with a name and year engraved on the cottage roof.

A little red-and-white lighthouse that lights up. A battery LED tea light drops in from the top into a round hole in the base before the tower goes on, and glows through the arched windows climbing the tower and up into the lantern room. It has a striped tower with a scored door, a gallery deck with a railing, a four-sided lantern room, a stepped three-tier dome and a keeper's cottage beside it with the name and year in a ribbon banner on its roof. The name is an editable red engrave layer: type in a name, engrave, cut, build. A centre piece inside the tower carries the ribbon hole at the very top. It's made to sit on a shelf, mantel or windowsill, and it can hang on the tree too - hung from its ribbon it leans slightly toward the cottage. Every piece locks with tabs and slots - no glue needed - and the tower lifts off the base to change the battery. Files for 2.7, 3 and 4 mm plywood.

You'll need

• A laser cutter with at least a 10 x 10 in work area, and software that edits SVG text (xTool Creative Space, LightBurn, Glowforge and others)
• 2.7 mm, 3 mm or 4 mm plywood
• One battery LED tea light, the common size about 1.5 in (37 mm) across with a stepped bottom (not included)
• Fine sandpaper, acrylic paints or a paint pen, ribbon or twine if you want to hang it

Laser-friendly files

Red = engrave (name and year), blue = score (stripe bands, window frames, door, railing, roof scallops and the part names - single-stroke, no engraving), black = cut, green = the big outlines that cut last. Small pieces cut before the big outlines.
