Keyhole Door: Moonlit Pond - Laser-Cut SVG Files

A storybook door that never opens - peek through the keyhole at a layered moonlit pond scene inside.

A little storybook door in a stone wall that never opens. Peek through the keyhole and you find a secret night scene inside: a cave mouth hung with ivy, reeds and an old dock, a fisherman in his rowboat on the pond, a cabin with a lit window on the far shore, and the moon in a starry sky. Five scene layers slide into slots in the side walls, so the scene has real depth and shifts as you move your eye. Every piece locks in with tabs and slots - nothing needs holding while glue sets. A keyhole hanger in the back hangs it on a nail, the brass key hangs on its own peg beside the door, and the lid lifts off so you can tuck a little LED button light inside. Paint by number: every color has a number, scored right into the scene layers, and the booklet shows each layer painted. Files for 2.7, 3 and 4 mm plywood.

You'll need

• A laser cutter with at least a 10 x 10 in work area
• 2.7 mm, 3 mm or 4 mm plywood
• Wood glue, fine sandpaper, acrylic paints
• Optional: a small battery LED button light, about 3/4 in (20 mm) across, to light the scene from inside.
