The Ice Shanty is a little shed-roof fishing hut on sled runners, the kind you drag out onto the lake once the ice is safe. It has lap siding, a plank door with a two-pane window and Z-braces, a blank sign board over the door for your own lettering, a four-pane window in each side wall and a stovepipe poking through the roof. It sits on a cracked ice slab with its own fishing hole. The walls lock together with box-joint corners and tabs, so it squares itself as it goes together, and the runners lock into slots in the ice.

You'll need

• A laser cutter with at least a 10 x 10 in work area
• 2.7 mm, 3 mm or 4 mm plywood
• Wood glue, fine sandpaper, acrylic paints
• A 1/4 in dowel for the stovepipe
