A barn-red carry-along dollhouse where a hamster family and Mama Hen's chicks live side by side. Carry it by the handle on the ridge, then swing the whole front open like a book. The hamster side has a kitchen with a stove, table and two chairs, and a ladder up through the floor to the bedroom. The chicken side has a straw-floored coop with a roost bar and feed trough, and a cleated ramp up to a loft with three nest boxes. A drawer in the base keeps the family together, and a pop hole in the side leads down a little ramp into a slot-together picket run. The handle's tabs pass through closed slots in both gables, so the weight hangs on the strong walls. Files for 2.7, 3 and 4 mm plywood; 4 mm makes the sturdiest toy.
